Ryan Dungey piloted his ONE Industries backed RMZ 250 to a second overall at Steel City Raceway this weekend giving him the points needed to take home his first national title.
The 2009 AMA Supercross Lites West Champion continued his winning ways in the national series taking four overall victories and the series championship. The Rockstar/Makita Suzuki rider entered the final round of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship in Delmont, PA with a 17 point lead over rival Christophe Pourcel. Although Christophe fought to the end, it wasn’t enough to stop Dungey’s relentless pursuit of the title in the highly competitive 250 class.
Ryan’s victory makes it a clean sweep this season for the highly successful Rockstar/Makita Suzuki team as they claimed both the 450cc and 250cc AMA Pro Motocross Championship’s with Chad Reed and Ryan Dungey, respectively.
