The opening season of the 2015 Supercross series
shook down Saturday night with a field of hungry riders ready to bang bars and fight for the top spot up on the podium! Angel Stadium
housed the SX battlegrounds with the One Industries
team ready for an all-out moto war. Josh Grant, Kyle Partridge, Bracken Hall, Josh Hansen, Nick Wey, Kevin Weisburch and Broc Shoemaker
set the pace taking on the West Coast rounds all in their identified classes. Later in the SX game, Kyle Cunningham, Kyle Peters
and a list of other riders on the One Industrie
s team will take on the East Coast rounds.
pits where packed and the fans where just as amped as we were to kick some racing into gear. Our first stop in the pits was with Nick Wey
to get a final look at his custom One Industries graphics
. Must say that those Mafia Moto Crew graphics
look on point! Across the pits was Josh Hansen
who is also running our One Industries custom graphics
and his bike was by far one of the most decked out machines in the pits. Both kits will be available soon on our website so make sure to check back for that.
While it may not show on the result sheets, it was a suitable weekend for One Industries
and it’s riders. With a field so deep, 4 thru 20
is going to be an all out battle every weekend for the guys, while starts will be more crucial than ever before.
Unfortunately for Josh Grant
and Kyle Partridge
, both riders were buried in the back of the pack off the start in the 450SX main
event. Immediately going to work, Grant
methodically worked his way forward until being locked into five man battle that included past champions; Blake Baggett, Dean Wilson, Broc Tickle, and Jake Weimer just outside the top 10.
After twenty rigid laps that saw incalculable position changes, JG33
put his Team Two Two Motorsports
ride into the 18th spot. Kyle Partridge
put in a solid ride finishing behind Eli Tomac for 21st in what was one of the most stacked 450SX mains the sport has seen to date.
As always, Nick Wey
was going fast and looking good on his Moto Mafia Crew
ride! Despite missing the main event, Nick
and his bike were a big hit all day and the fan favorite even rode a lap with a microphone under his helmet on at the beginning of the night to give fans a unique look at the Anaheim 1 track obstacles.
The day started out great for our 250SX riders
. Bracken Hall
came out swinging locking in the qualifying fastest time in the B sessions. Kevin Weisbruch
and Broc Shoemaker
also threw down some fast laps that easily put them into the night show.
Unfortunately, all three had issues in their heat and LCQ races. Weisbruch
missed the main out of their LCQ.
, who debuted the all-new 2015 Vapor Jockey gear
was in a qualifying spot, banging bars and holding his ground. He was shacking off the rest of the group and got slammed hard into a corner which took him out of the race completely.
The racing was great and along with amazing fans all day however, some of the biggest cheers of the night where for Josh Hansen’s
#100 machine. Riding on one of the sickest looking bikes in the series, Hansen
made a huge return into the Monster Energy Supercross
The veteran held it down with some serious speed while pulling out great starts and running up front in both the heat and main event. A crash in the main would hurt Hansen’s
overall result, but a 9th will give him valuable points in the overall standings heading into Phoenix
The team and series will now prepare to head to Phoenix for Round 2
