National Cycle Centre - Manchester Indoor BMX Track
Friday 13th Feb – 2015
Riders – Sylvain Andre & Eva Ailloud
Exposure – 2024 BMX Race Magazine
Last Friday One Industries European marketing team headed “up't North” to the National Cycle Centre in Manchester. Recent athlete signings of the BMX Race fraternity Sylvain Andre and Eva Ailloud had made the trip over from the sunny south of France to spend two weeks training at the Olympic BMX facility and home to British Cycling Team GB.
Entering the venue from a spectator perspective was akin to entering a football stadium, except this was slightly smaller but much cooler! The scale of the pro line was an initial shock to the system as we took a few minutes to walk the track., glad we hadn’t taken our own bikes!
Eva & Sylvain had the private sessions booked throughout their stay to allow them unrestricted practise. The National Centre will have many key events for the remainder of the race calendar, national round in March and the first round of the UCI BMX Supercross in April being of primary focus for the French couple.
Along with the general meet and greet, we met up with BMX Race Magazine 2024 who had made the trip down to shoot some images for an up coming feature and also to interview Eva & Sylvain. More info when that goes live.
Altho only a brief visit, it was a great experience to meet the riders and see first hand their skill in mastering that track., we’re already looking ahead to April and for the UCI Round and to experience the venue and atmosphere on a race day.
